Waiting For God (video)

Waiting For God (video)

Waiting on God is one of the most difficult things He asks of us. Isaiah 40:31 says: “But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not grow faint.”

Modified transcript:

Hi, it’s Kimberley from Well Christian Woman.

I don’t know about you but I am absolutely terrible at waiting, at patience, and I’m realizing more and more how much of a struggle that can be some days for me.

Whatever it is you’re waiting for, whether it’s results from your school exams, whether it’s results from your job interview, whether for me, right now, it’s results from my CT scan to see how chemo’s going and what is happening, it’s just hard to wait.

Today, we don’t have to wait for anything. Whether it’s your messages to go immediately via the computer or your phone. You don’t even have to sit at a desktop. You can just pull out your phone and send a message. You can order something online. You don’t actually have to go to a store. We really don’t wait for anything.

I love that right now my kids are actually learning this verse from Isaiah in their Sunday School for the month. It’s a verse that many of us may have heard but I think it’s a good verse to keep in mind, and it’s one that I just need to keep in mind for myself.

Isaiah 40:31 says: “But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not grow faint”.

I think God really wants us to listen to Him and hear that. That we can trust him. We can wait. We can be patient no matter what our circumstances. He is there, and he’s just wanting that for us, that ability to wait in expectation for what he is going to do in our lives.

I saw this post from Suzy Larson who I’ve seen some really great blessings from and the one I saw today was talking about just that.

In the times of the “what ifs” and the “not yets”, just that we listen to God, and just for that whisper to say “trust in Him and just wait for what he’s going to do in our lives.

I pray that for you and for me as well, that in the struggles that I have, that we have, with waiting and patience, we’ll just go forth and be better with that today.

    Hi Kimberly,
Thank you for todays reminder to wait on Lord, very powerful! I just wanted to send you a word of encouragement as i experienced how God is working through you. I was at a gathering over the weekend and a co-worker of my husband shared with me how his wife doesn’t believe in God. He also shared that she tended to lean on the scientific route as opposed to Faith/religion. My heart ached and I immediately informed him that i was well educated and a Christian and then shared your website declarations of faith. He immediately said:”wow thats so funny, my wife’s OBGYN is Dr Trites and she just shared how touched she was by her doctor’s video”. I know you planted a seed. This woman could not deny your goodness and therefore had a hard time to deny your message. Your message is powerful because you are educated but also you know doubt walked in a way of love and compassion that most can’t deny. I pray you are encouraged and i thank you for being so brave to do this. You are planting many seeds and God will make them grow!
